What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Director position at General Pipe Cleaners?
IT Director
General Pipe Cleaners, a Division of General Wire Spring Company
McKees Rocks, PA • Full-Time, On-Site • drainbrain.com generalwirespring.com
OverviewWe are in the process of transitioning our IT team and are seeking a hands-on leader who is responsive, motivated, and ready to take full ownership of our technology environment.
This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity. General Pipe Cleaners needs an IT Director who can own our entire technology stack, build a reliable IT operation from a two-person team, and work directly with the Director of Operations to modernize a 95-year-old manufacturing business. You’ll manage everything from Google Workspace administration and network infrastructure to ERP support, EDI integrations, and emerging AI initiatives.
This role is equal parts strategy and execution. You’ll develop the IT roadmap, but you’ll also be the one making things work day to day across 220,000 sq ft of facilities with roughly 120 employees. Your appetite will determine your outcome here. If you want ownership, visibility across every department, and the chance to shape how this company operates for the next decade, this is it.
About General Pipe CleanersGeneral Pipe Cleaners, a division of General Wire Spring Company, is a fourth-generation, family-owned business founded in 1930. Our McKees Rocks facility houses the full operation — from raw material processing through finished goods shipping — and our technology needs span the office, the production floor, and the warehouse.
