Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute framing tasks.
- Erect wood and metal building frameworks, including metal stud framing and roof trusses, ensuring structural integrity.
- Install concrete forms and rebar for foundations and other structural elements with precision.
- Perform trim carpentry to enhance finished surfaces.
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely to cut, shape, assemble, and install framing components.
- Conduct dimensional measurements using tape measures and other tools to ensure accurate framing according to specifications.
- Collaborate with construction management teams to adhere to project timelines, safety standards, and quality expectations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in framing carpentry with a strong background in metal building erection, concrete forming, masonry, roofing, siding, and restoration projects.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics related to construction plans.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as saws, hammers, levels, tape measures; familiarity with power tools is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights on scaffolding or ladders as needed.
- Knowledge of rebar installation, concrete finishing techniques, drywall installation, and trim carpentry is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to framing projects.
- Construction site experience with an understanding of safety protocols and equipment operation including heavy machinery if applicable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
