Alpha Press Operator - 2nd Shift

Description

The Alpha Press Operator works under general direction within a framework or established procedures, is expected to perform a wide variety of skilled or semiskilled press room work. Judgment and initiative are required in making decisions in accordance with established guides.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates press for pressing operations ensuring line clear procedure completed between grade changes.
• Select proper tooling needed for job.
• Interprets simple drawings, sketches and blueprints of job.
• Performs entry level press room functions.
• Loads and unloads work to the table by hand.
• Select proper powder needed for pressing of products and record accurate information regarding weights.
• Weighs and counts parts being pressed.
• Accurately enters information related to the Press Department into the computer.
• Maintains tooling by cleaning and handling properly.
• Adjusts feed and speed of machine according to size of tooling and material of piece to be pressed.
• Starts machine and operates various controls to perform required operation.
• Checks dimensions of work using measuring tools, such as scales, calipers and gauges.
• Performs routine maintenance and keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Responsible for tools and fixtures used in work area.
• Performs subordinate duties related to the Press Room Department.
• Observes all health and safety regulations.

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
