A material washer is responsible for ensuring parts are clean of all contaminates post fabrication and to support production operations. They will be responsible for the storage and use of industrial chemical cleaners and equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals while following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and machinery to prevent damage
- Cleans parts of all foreign materials and contaminates
- Maintains cleaning system including hoses and spray guns
- Inspects parts for defects to ensure company standards
- Manages the inventory of cleaning supplies and notifies managers regarding supply needs and repairs
- Transport parts to and from washing areas, moving items to next stage of the production line
- Communicate with other departments to ensure a steady flow of materials through the production process
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:
Employees must:
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights and weather conditions
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with changing environmental conditions, including heat, cold and wet
- Ability to safely work with industrial cleaning chemicals (Ex. Aluminox, MEK) and follow all chemical handling safety procedures at all times
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedure
Physical Requirements:
- Standing – 7 hours per day
- Sitting – < 1 hour per day
- Walking – < 2 hour per day

- Carrying – Up to 50 lbs
- Pushing/Pulling – Up to 100 lbs
