It is suited for professionals with substantial experience in data center operations and a focus on maintaining optimal system performance and security.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise-level server, storage, and networking hardware.
- Perform advanced rack and stack activities, including rail installation, structured cabling, and hardware integration.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware failures in servers, GPUs, storage systems, and networking equipment.
- Execute firmware updates, BIOS configurations, hardware replacements, and system validation procedures.
- Support hardware deployment projects such as refreshes, migrations, and expansions across data center facilities.
- Monitor data center environment health, equipment status, and environmental conditions utilizing DCIM and monitoring tools.
- Follow operational procedures, change management protocols, and maintain accurate documentation of activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and vendor support, to resolve complex technical issues.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to L1 and L2 technicians, fostering knowledge sharing and skills development.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support maintenance windows outside of standard business hours as needed.
- 5 years of experience supporting enterprise or hyperscale data center environments.
- In-depth knowledge of x86 server architecture, GPU systems, enterprise storage platforms, and networking equipment.
- Proven experience with rack and stack deployments, structured cabling (copper and fiber), and hardware diagnostics.
- Familiarity with Power Distribution Units (PDUs), remote management tools (iLO, iDRAC, IPMI, Redfish), and Linux OS troubleshooting.
- Ability to read rack elevations, network diagrams, and technical documentation effectively.
- Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Availability to support on-site operations and participate in scheduled maintenance activities.
