The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the general health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures for all construction operations. This role ensures full compliance with OSHA and all applicable state, local, and industry-specific regulations while conducting regular safety and quality audits on active projects. The Safety Manager also leads initiatives that promote a safe work environment, including safety orientations, skills training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material handling, and the use of personal protective equipment. This role also manages safety data, investigates incidents, completes required reporting, and implements strategies to prevent and reduce workplace accidents and injuries.
What Youll Do
- Develop, implement, and oversee company programs and policies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Supervise workers and processes for safe execution of construction operations.
- Maintain and update I-Solutions Safety SOPs and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Program as needed.
- Ensure Site-Specific Safety Plans are created and properly implemented on every jobsite.
- Monitor project-level compliance with all I-Solutions EHS programs.
- Ensure?managers?and supervisors have the appropriate?safety equipment?and training.
- Review and approve all incident investigation reports and ensure follow-up actions are taken.
- Identify and ensure correction or mitigation of safety and health hazards.
- Ensure safety meetings and audits are conducted regularly and properly documented.
- Stay current on all relevant construction safety rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- May provide leadership and oversight to assigned safety team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree in construction management, occupational safety, or a related field AND 10 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience directly or indirectly supervising staff with increasing responsibility.
- OSHA 510 required, OSHA 500 preferred.
- OSHA-30 certification required.
- Ability to lead risk assessment and mitigation planning across multiple job sites or project phases.
- Proficient in managing and facilitating incident investigations and root cause analyses, including corrective action follow-up.
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA and other regulations with the ability to interpret and apply standards to diverse project types.
- Ability to oversee and improve permitting processes for high-risk activities, ensuring team accountability and procedural compliance.
- Proficient in using safety management systems and tools for tracking inspections, observations, and compliance data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills used to evaluate safety trends, interpret metrics, and drive proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Skilled in developing safety communications, training materials, and field engagement strategies.
- Proven ability to lead and support safety team members.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Manages emotions under pressure and helps resolve conflicts through clear, respectful communication.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
- Exposure to all outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
- Use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Exposure to confined spaces as part of job site conditions.
- Exposure to high noise levels typical of job sites.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record under the company's insurance carrier requirements to operate or rent vehicles for business purposes.
Travel
- Travel to active construction job sites is required.
