What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at Gather Co?
We're currently adding another Cashier to the team as we continue to grow.
The role is customer-facing and suits someone who enjoys working with people, staying organised, and being part of a busy retail environment. You'll receive full training, so we're looking more at attitude and communication skills than previous experience.
What your day could look like
The checkout is where you'll spend most of your time, but no two shifts are exactly alike. Throughout the day you'll be:
- Greeting customers as they reach the checkout
- Processing cash, card, and contactless payments accurately
- Answering general questions and helping customers where you can
- Assisting with returns and exchanges in line with store procedures
- Keeping the checkout area clean, organised, and ready for the next customer
- Restocking front-of-store items when needed
- Working with the team to keep queues moving during busy periods
You'll be speaking with people throughout the day, so this role suits someone who enjoys customer interaction and likes working in a fast-paced environment.
