What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Gateway Group Personnel?
Our client is a well-established, publicly traded company with a strong regional presence seeking a Corporate Accountant to join their Ridgeland, MS headquarters. This is a high-visibility role embedded within a collaborative corporate accounting team, offering meaningful exposure to SEC reporting, external audit, and executive-level financial analysis.
What You'll Be Doing
This role supports the full cycle of corporate accounting operations, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include accounts payable review, ACH/wire execution, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations. Beyond transactional work, you'll contribute to financial statement variance analysis, quarterly budgeting, and forecasting activities.
On the reporting side, you'll prepare supporting schedules for press releases and SEC filings — including 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K submissions — and serve as a direct liaison to external auditors. Additional responsibilities include debt-related accounting, tenant AR review for bad debt reserves, and participation in process improvement and automation initiatives.
