Accountant

Qualifications

College degree preferred

Ability to efficiently operate an electronic typewriter, microcomputer (word processor), computer terminal, and calculator

Extensive knowledge and practical experience with the following software packages:  Excel, Lotus, DBase 4, and Power Point

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and experience in governmental accounting

Reports To

SUPERVISOR, ACCOUNTING

Essential Functions

Reconciles bank statements.

Reconciles due to and due from amounts between funds.

Prepares journal entries as necessary for correction and reconciliation.

Reconciles warehouse purchase orders to amounts paid and inventory recorded.

Records inventory adjustments necessary to correct pricing or quantity errors.

Assists with preparation for audit and preparing audit schedules.

Assists in preparation of financial statements.

Assists in answering surveys and other requests for statistical information.

Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
