BILLING SPECIALIST
POSITION OBJECTIVES
Maintain updates on all forms for billing processes in the Billing Shared Files. Maintain job duties as follows in the Billing Department. Rent Process for all Housing Locations, Daycare Process for Staff and Clients, LSF Voucher Process, Medicaid Verification Process, CSR Widget Process with Coverage Plan & Fee Form Setup, Cash Application for self-pay in Smart Care, Service Entry Application for drug screens, bup therapy, daycare services and rent charges. Any other duties as deemed necessary to assist the Billing Manager and/or Billing Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensure quality internal and external customer care and service
2. Complete understanding of all Smart Care Billing Screens ? CSR Widget, Reports, etc.
3. Setup and/or update client coverage plans
4. Cross-Training within the Billing Department
5. Must be flexible and cooperative in changes pertaining to work schedule, location and available for overtime as requested by the Billing Manager
6. Daycare Process for staff and clients
7. Present self in a positive, professional manner when training/working with other Billing Staff
8. Scanning Process into Smart Care for all billing forms
9. Perform assigned work independently with minimal supervision
10. Maintain LSF Voucher Process
11. Enter daily drug screen charges into Smart Care
12. Enter monthly buprenorphine charges into Smart Care
13. Enter monthly rent charges into Smart Care for all housing locations
14. Maintain housing rent logs and update weekly ? distribute weekly by email to those locations
15. Maintain contract changes (bed day codes) for COJ-PSL, HSS2 and LSF-Veterans at Alumni House/Fellowship House
16. Cash posting application into Smart Care for rent and/or treatment payments
17. Report Management Process ? running of reports used to check billing errors
18. Breakdown of Medicaid Checks by Reporting Unit
19. Medicaid Verification on the Florida Medicaid Website and Trizetto Clearinghouse
20. Must not engage in behaviors that erode the cohesiveness of program staff
21. Perform special projects and/or other agency-related assignments as requested
22. Other duties as assigned
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
- Must be eligible through DCF and AHCA with Level II Background checks throughout employment.
- Must abide by the organization's Code of Conduct, policy and procedures, and state certification code of ethics.

QUALIFICATIONS/FORMAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Financial experience.
Health care preferred.
SKILLS
Ability to communicate in English and to read and understand written English at the High School level.
Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies and life-threatening situations appropriately.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service and organizational skills.
Ability to relate to adolescents, families, referral sources, and internal Gateway Team Members.
Must maintain records security and client confidentiality at all times.
Must be able to perform assigned work independently with minimal supervision
General knowledge of Computers; 10-key Calculator; Accounting, Spreadsheet and Word Processing applications.
KNOWLEDGE
Medical billing, especially Medicaid, practices and procedures.
