What are the responsibilities and job description for the PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE / MEDICAL ASSISTANT position at Gastro Care Partners?
We are seeking a highly organized and adaptable Medical Assistant (MA) to support clinic operations in Northwestern, WY. This is a hybrid position that includes both on-site clinical support and remote administrative responsibilities. The role requires flexibility, strong time-management skills, and the ability to independently manage both clinical and administrative tasks. The majority of this role will be based in Jackson, with approximately two days per month of travel to Pinedale and occasional coverage at the Dubois clinic as needed.
Flexibility and willingness to travel between locations is required.
Primary Clinical Responsibilities
When providers are in clinic, the MA will:
- Run daily clinic operations
- Check patients in and verify accurate demographic and insurance information
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Update medical history and medication lists
- Assist providers with procedures as needed
- Provide accurate and timely documentation support
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing patient care needs
- Maintain exam room readiness and manage clinical supplies
This role blends front-office and clinical support functions to ensure efficient patient flow and a seamless patient experience.
Administrative Responsibilities
When providers are not in clinic, the MA will focus on administrative and care coordination tasks, including:
- Managing prior authorizations
- Responding to and routing patient portal messages
- Processing prescription refill requests
- Reviewing and addressing pathology tasks
- Managing and returning daily patient voicemails
- Ensure all patient communications are followed through, including daily voicemail management, with consistent follow-up, resolution, and proper documentation.
Administrative time may be worked remotely, with at least one remote administrative day per week depending on clinic scheduling and operational needs.

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience

Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
