Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting, replenishment, and recording using warehouse management systems like AS400 and RF scanners.
- Assist with order picking, packing, and fulfillment processes to ensure timely shipment of products.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting cargo for damage, and documenting transactions.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to OSHA regulations and mechanical safety procedures during all materials handling activities.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts, improve inventory accuracy, and streamline distribution workflows.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or warehouse management roles with a focus on inventory management and materials handling.
- Valid certification or experience operating reach trucks, cranes, forklifts, order pickers, and other heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 platform, RF scanners, and inventory control procedures.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during stock stocking, order picking & packing, shipping & receiving tasks.
- Prior warehouse supervisor experience is preferred for leadership responsibilities.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments.
