Accounting Supervisor

The incumbent serves as the Accounting Supervisor responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise daily operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

· Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes

· Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions

· Prepare and review financial reports for audits and presentations

· Manage bank accounts, cash flow, and organizational revenue

· Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis

· Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting procedures

· Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes

· Oversee payroll coordination and ensure accurate financial postings

· Monitor receivables and support billing coordination for accurate revenue tracking

· Ensure compliance with procurement and financial policies

· Support improvements to financial systems and workflows

· Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting and billing staff

· Performs related duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

· Alternatively, Minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly responsible related experience, including five (5) years of accounting experience preferred

Certification and License:

Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Skills and Experience:

• Governmental or municipal accounting experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Familiarity with GAAP (GASB preferred)
• Experience with financial systems such as RDS
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Working Conditions:

· Ability to work extended hours and respond to emergencies on 24-hour basis

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
