Position Overview
As a Used Car Technician, you will perform mechanical inspections, diagnose issues, execute repairs, and help recondition vehicles for retail readiness. This is a key role in our recon pipeline and directly supports the success of Gary Crossley Ford’s pre-owned department.
Responsibilities
Perform full mechanical inspections on incoming used vehicles.
Diagnose engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical concerns.
Complete required repairs and maintenance to bring vehicles to retail-ready condition.
Document all findings and repair notes accurately.
Work efficiently within established recon timelines and productivity goals.
Communicate with recon managers and service advisors regarding required work.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
2 years of automotive technician experience (dealership or used-car recon preferred).
Strong diagnostic abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to manage repair tasks in a high-volume recon environment.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
ASE Certifications Preferred But Not Required.
