General Position Summary:
Assists Site Custodial Supervisor at assigned site(s), ensuring that customer standards and
contract specifications and are fulfilled and within budget. Ensures quality and safety standards
are met at all times.
- Performs custodial duties at assigned site(s).
- Leads and directs workers in required custodial duties at assigned sites.
- Ensures building security at specified site(s).
- Assists supervisor as requested and assigned.
- Maintains frequent contact with supervisor throughout shift.
- Notifies supervisor of any problems encountered in performance of assigned duties.
- Ensures site(s) are cleaned per contract specifications and within established time perimeters.
- Ensures safe work practices and compliance with policies and procedures are maintained.
- May be requested to transport supplies and crew.
- Performs quality assurance.
- Provides input on ways the organization can create integrated employment opportunities for

Job Scope:
Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operates from established and wellknown procedures. Decisions are made within general company policy constraints but may
require independent decision making.
This position has a significant impact on the image of the organization and has responsibility for
ensuring proper use of custodial supplies and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is not supervisory in nature except to the extent that it provides daily work
direction to others on the crew.
Interpersonal Contacts:
Has both internal and external contacts. The most common internal contacts are with own
department staff and supervisor. The most frequent external contacts are with site customers.
The types of interactions, for both internal and external contacts, involve information exchange
and may require problem solving. Internal contacts also involve training of crew on custodial
tasks.
Internal and external contacts are often made at the employee's own initiative with all contacts
being face to face. At least 20% of all contacts are with external customers while 80% are
internal customers.

- A minimum of 6-12 months experience/training in general custodial service.
- A minimum of 6-12 months experience directing others in assigned duties.
- High school education or equivalent.
Job Conditions:
This position requires the incumbent to work in an environment where there may be exposure to
fumes, noise, dirt, dust, chemicals, odors, building temperature fluctuations, and biohazards.
Other working conditions include:
Working alone; on-call status; shift work; disagreeable contacts; and frequent interruptions. May
be required to attend meetings outside of regular shift.
