What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wealth Management Associate position at Garry Executive Search?
Garry Executive Search has been retained by a growing, independently owned RIA in the western Chicago suburbs to recruit a Wealth Management Associate to support an established advisory team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with client service experience in wealth management who wants direct, hands-on exposure to advisors and clients, values being part of a small, tenured team, and is looking for a firm that's actively investing in its service function rather than treating it as an afterthought.
Seniority Level: Associate
Industry: Financial Services, Investment Management, Wealth Management
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Functions: Client Services, Operations
The Opportunity
This is a newly added seat, created to support continued growth in the office rather than to replace someone. The Wealth Management Associate joins a small, tenured team that includes a financial planner and another CSA, with team tenure ranging from a few years to a decade. The role works directly alongside advisors and reports into the firm's operations leadership to keep client accounts and day-to-day service running smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support client onboarding and account opening from start to finish
- Handle asset transfers (ACATS/TOA) and money movement requests (ACH/wires)
- Assist with meeting prep, scheduling, and client follow-up
- Maintain accurate records and task notes in the CRM
- Respond to client communications and help resolve day-to-day service requests
- Support compliance documentation and recordkeeping
- Coordinate across advisors, planning, and operations to keep nothing falling through the cracks
Why This Role Stands Out
- Hybrid-friendly office, more flexible than some of the firm's other locations
- Family-oriented, collaborative culture that values teamwork over individual metrics, not just hitting numbers
- Ground-floor timing: this is the first time in a long while the office has added headcount, a real chance to help shape the role
- Small team environment where support work is valued as a long-term career path, not a stepping stone
Background They're Looking For
- Experience in wealth management, financial services, or a related client service role
- Custodian experience with Schwab and/or Fidelity is a strong plus
- Comfortable with a hybrid schedule and self-sufficient in the office on solo days
- Team-oriented professional who wants to grow with a firm investing in its service team
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary in the $60,000 to $80,000 range, with flexibility for the right experience
- Discretionary bonus on top of base
- Medical coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield, including plan options paired with an HSA and an employer HSA contribution
- Dental and vision coverage
- Basic life and AD&D insurance, employer paid
- Long-term disability coverage, employer paid, plus voluntary short-term disability
- 401(k) with a non-elective employer match, auto enrollment, and access to a dedicated plan advisor
- Employee Assistance Program covering the employee and family members
- Voluntary legal plan and voluntary pet insurance available
- Generous PTO
