Company Description
Burling Wealth Partners is an independent, award-winning wealth management firm headquartered in Chicago. We launched in 2024 and crossed $1 billion in client assets within our first full year.
We're building a firm with the sophistication of a large practice and the intimacy of a boutique, advising high-net-worth families through their most important financial decisions. We're not chasing size for its own sake; we grow by earning relationships and hiring exceptional people. For the right person joining early, that means real responsibility, direct access to the partners, and the chance to grow as the firm does.
Role Description
The Wealth Management Associate will play a critical role in delivering a high-touch client experience while gaining exposure to every aspect of wealth management. You'll start at the center of how we serve clients and run the firm, with structured exposure across client service, marketing, financial planning, and investment management. This role ideal for someone with a strong service mindset who wants to deepen their work with sophisticated clients and, over time, grow into a broader advisory role.
This role is principally in-person at our Chicago office.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Service
- Deliver a consistently high-touch client experience by managing inquiries and requests with professionalism, urgency, and close attention to detail
- Process money movement requests including wire transfers, ACH transactions, distributions, and journal entries, taking ownership of accuracy, compliance and timely execution
- Manage the full client onboarding process, including account opening documentation, custodian paperwork, and asset transfer coordination
- Prepare client meeting materials and account reviews
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate client records in the CRM, taking ownership of data integrity
- Proactively track and close out outstanding action items without requiring follow-up
Trading & Operations
- Execute trades across client accounts under advisor supervision, seeing each order through to confirmation and reconciliation
- Own the rebalancing workflow from identification through execution and post-trade review
Financial Planning
- Work alongside advisors to prepare planning deliverables and run scenarios, building toward direct planning responsibility over time.
- Partner with internal and external professionals (e.g., CPAs, attorneys) to ensure a seamless client experience
- Assist advisors with meeting preparation, follow-ups, and ad hoc client requests
Marketing
- Take full ownership of client communications, newsletters, and market commentary from drafting through distribution
- Manage and maintain the firm’s website, social media presence, and marketing collateral on an ongoing basis
- Coordinate events end-to-end, including client appreciation events and prospect seminars, from planning through post-event follow-up
- Track, report on, and continuously improve marketing initiative performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field — or equivalent industry experience
- 0–5 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, or a client-facing role
- A genuine owner’s mentality — you take responsibility for tasks and see them through with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication; you like working with clients
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine curiosity about financial markets and wealth management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
