Position Overview
Garrett Integrated Systems is seeking a skilled Technician II to support and execute installations across high-end residential and select commercial projects. This mid-level position is ideal for candidates with hands-on low-voltage, AV, or smart home experience who are ready to take on more responsibility and technical complexity.
As a Technician II, you will work independently on assigned tasks, support Lead Technicians, perform device installation and wiring, and contribute to system configuration and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Integration
- Install and assist with configuring systems, including AV, networking, lighting control, shading, security, surveillance, and energy management.
- Perform cable pulling, termination, labeling, and device mounting with high workmanship standards.
- Support rack building, equipment mounting, and system wiring.
Technical Execution
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to intermediate system issues.
- Conduct equipment testing, device activation, and functional checks.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, wiring plans, and system diagrams.
Project Support
- Work under the direction of the Lead Technician to complete scheduled tasks and meet project timelines.
- Provide daily feedback to project management regarding progress and site conditions.
- Maintain proper organization, cleanliness, and safety at all job sites.
Quality & Documentation
- Complete accurate labeling, cable management, and documentation updates.
- Follow established company processes and ensure installations meet code and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in low-voltage, AV integration, smart home systems, or related fields.
- Working knowledge of systems such as Savant, Lutron, Sonos, networking, or similar technologies.
- Ability to read and follow construction plans, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic test equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to lift/move equipment as needed.
