Commercial Real Estate Lending Attorney – Counsel Level
Plantation, Florida/ Hybrid
A nationally respected, mid-sized law firm with a thriving commercial real estate finance practice is expanding its Florida presence and seeking a Commercial Real Estate Lending Attorney to join as Counsel.
This role is ideal for a senior attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, sophisticated lender-side work, and a clear path to long‑term growth—without the bureaucracy or rigid silos of BigLaw.
About the Role
You’ll serve as a senior, on‑the‑ground resource for our CRE finance team, partnering closely with New York attorneys on complex loan originations while helping grow the Florida platform. Expect high-level involvement in:
- Structuring, drafting, and negotiating commercial loan documents (mortgages, loan agreements, guaranties, assignments, intercreditor agreements)
- Managing CRE finance transactions from term sheet through closing
- Representing institutional lenders, private lenders, and real estate investors
- Leading deals independently with full team support when needed
What They’re Looking For
- 5 years of commercial real estate lending experience (finance-side required; litigation only backgrounds are not a match)
- Strong background in complex CRE loan originations
- Ability to run deals autonomously from start to finish
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client‑management skills
- Portable business is welcome but not required
- New York Bar admission is a plus but not required
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Senior-level role with real responsibility and visibility
- Highly sophisticated commercial real estate lending work
- Collaborative culture with no traditional practice‑group silos
- Chance to help shape and expand a growing Florida practice
If you’re a seasoned CRE lending attorney looking for a role where your experience truly matters—and where you can help build something meaningful—this could be an exceptional next step.
Note - the firm is also open to conversations with small boutiques or groups (approximately 3–4 attorneys) interested in exploring a strategic move as well as partner lever candidates
