A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate Attorney to join its growing Wilmington office.

About the Practice

The Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group advises debtors, creditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders in complex financial restructurings, insolvency proceedings, distressed transactions, and special situations matters. The team works across a broad range of industries, helping clients navigate challenging financial and operational circumstances while developing strategic and practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Represent debtors, creditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders in complex restructuring matters

✅ Assist with Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings

✅ Advise clients on distressed transactions and strategic alternatives

✅ Support distressed M&A transactions, asset sales, and acquisitions

✅ Conduct legal research and analysis on complex bankruptcy and restructuring issues

✅ Draft motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, transaction documents, and related materials

✅ Collaborate closely with attorneys across the national practice group

✅ Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance to clients

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the candidate intends to practice

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, or related practice areas

• Experience representing stakeholders in Chapter 11 proceedings and restructuring matters

• Excellent legal research, writing, communication, and analytical skills

• Strong academic credentials

• Ability to navigate complex subject matter quickly and effectively

• Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and client service

Preferred Experience

⭐ Experience with distressed investing and private credit matters

⭐ Exposure to capital solutions and special situations transactions

⭐ Experience with creditor negotiations and restructuring strategies

⭐ Background in distressed asset sales and acquisitions
