The Electrical and Avionics Technician is responsible for the assembly of electrical systems on general aviation aircraft which includes integration of modern avionics equipment. Also, they will take part in troubleshooting and repair efforts for customers, ensuring a high degree of fleet readiness. To be successful, this person will need to have a wide range of electrical aviation knowledge with previous experience in wiring and avionics.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Installing and conducting tests on sophisticated avionics equipment and electrical systems aboard aircraft.
  • Verifying the functionality of all avionics equipment prior to aircraft departure.
  • Disassembling and reassembling avionics equipment as required for clearance.
  • Executing precise and reliable soldering on intricate components.
  • Constructing and fitting electrical components.
  • Offering precise assessments for challenging avionics issues.
  • Coordinating ground support and testing apparatus for flight evaluations.
  • Analyzing flight test data to identify faults and examine electrical component operations.
  • Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and aircraft maintenance personnel.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of aircraft maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in operating Garmin avionics products is advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of aviation safety protocols and technology is essential.
  • Knowledge of various aircraft systems in beneficial
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints is required.
  • Excellent analytical, attention-to-detail, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities are essential attributes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s or associate degree in avionics or aviation technology are preferred.
  • Experience working for a general aviation OEM.
  • Experience or understanding of composite structures.
  • Certifications in electrical engineering or aviation maintenance preferred.
  • Possession of either a Federal Aviation Administration license or a Federal Communications Commission license as a restricted radiotelephone operator.
