The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the production facility in top shape. They perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot faulty equipment, and lead ground maintenance activities. With nearly 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space, there is always work to be done. This role is perfect for someone who has a broad range of technical skills, has pride in the quality of work they do, and can independently manage priorities. This role requires someone with a high degree of trust and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Perform routine and periodic maintenance of facility and production equipment such as HVAC, ovens, dust collection systems, lighting and electrical, plumbing, compressed air, vacuum, paint booths, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Promptly respond to and troubleshoot faulty equipment that impacts production.
- Document work performed and track equipment performance.
- Contact and coordinate with vendors on equipment maintenance, repair, purchase, installation, and commissioning.
- Support facility and equipment related compliance audits.
- Perform tasks related to ground maintenance and cleanliness.
- Fabricate production support equipment as necessary.
- Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas
- Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
- Drive company vehicles to procure necessary materials and tools to perform work.
- Operate equipment such as fork and scissor lifts to perform tasks, often working from heights.
- Comply with company and industry standards for safe operation of equipment and safe work practices.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driving license and experience operating industrial equipment.
- 3 years’ experience in a facility maintenance role.
- Well-versed in technical operations and facilities management best practices. JDR REV 1/23
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in varying positions, spending extended time walking, standing, kneeling, or crouching.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree or apprenticeship in a relevant field such as construction, industrial maintenance, electrical, etc.
- 5 years’ experience in a facility maintenance or management role.
- Welding, compressors and pumps, PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
