Job Description
GALT Aerospace is seeking a full-time salaried Project Engineer to lead the development, integration, and testing of high-performance RF communication and electronic warfare systems for defense aerospace applications.
At GALT Aerospace, this Project Engineer role focuses on high-performance and efficient embedded software systems, hosting military grade waveforms, and implementing Weapons Open Systems Architecture (WOSA) standards to drive technical strategy from design to field deployment.
Oversee the bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting of RF hardware in laboratory environments using RF test equipment.
GALT Aerospace Project Engineer must know the fundamentals of project and resource planning such as integrated master schedule, work breakdown structure, resourced scheduling including critical path determination, risk identification and mitigation, and are responsible to understand the basics of defense contracting and contracting with suppliers and sub-contractors.
GALT Aerospace Project Engineers have significant responsibilities and are held accountable for program success. Time management skills are extremely important to effectively carry out the demands of this profession. They must be team-oriented, with effective communication and cooperation. With technical program management responsibilities, the person in this role is expected to know industry norms, and safe practices to effectively carry out their duties.
Project Engineer will work closely with the Program Manager and Lead Engineer to ensure program success. Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the engineer schedule, and leading and tasking a small team of engineers.
- Required Skills, Experience, and Education
- Ability to manage rapid prototyping fast-paced technical projects, manage program/technical schedules and risk, and allocate tasks to the engineering team
- Productive team collaboration, task ownership, responsibility, and follow-through
- Excellent written (design documents and specifications) and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with design, development, and integration of Software Defined Radios (SDR)
- Familiarity with embedded software and hardware development: CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs at the device and board level and debugging/troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with design tools such as C/C compilers/IDEs, Vivado/Vitis, and JTAG
- Familiarity with WOSA, FACE, or MOSA (Modular Open Systems Approach) architectures
- 5 years of technical experience in defense aerospace RF and embedded systems
- Bachelor's Degree (BS, E.E/C.S.) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related technical field
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Preferred Skills, Experience and Education
- Knowledge of RF communication theory and digital signal processing (DSP) fundamentals
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Military, Aircraft, or Space design and development of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
- 10 Years in Industry and Technical Leadership
- Strong critical and analytical thinking
- Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay Scale
At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $130,000 - $190,000 and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
