We strive to provide the best possible care for our clients, and we are seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Home Care Attendants to join our expanding team. As a member of our agency/registry, you will provide essential support to individuals who need daily assistance, personal care, companionship, and home-based support.
Position: Home Care Attendant
A Home Care Attendant plays a vital role in supporting older adults, individuals with disabilities, and medically fragile clients. You will help clients remain safely and comfortably in their homes by assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support.
Key Responsibilities
Home Care Attendants may provide services within OLTL, ODP, or Private-Pay. Duties include:
Personal Care & ADL Support
- Assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene.
- Supporting clients with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
- Monitoring client well-being and reporting any concerns promptly.
Companionship & Emotional Support
- Providing conversation, social engagement, and reassurance.
- Supporting community participation when appropriate.
Homemaker / Chore Tasks
- Light housekeeping: cleaning, laundry, organizing living spaces.
- Meal preparation following dietary needs.
- Errands such as grocery shopping (if permitted by the care plan).
Safety & Supervision
- Ensuring a safe environment for clients with cognitive or physical limitations.
- Observing behavioral or health changes and communicating them to supervisors/family.
Respite Support (If Assigned)
- Temporary relief care for families of individuals with disabilities.
- Supervision, engagement, and basic care while primary caregivers rest.
QualificationsRequired
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid photo ID.
- Ability to pass PA background checks (FBI, PA Criminal, Childline – based on service assignment).
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs depending on client needs.
- Reliable transportation to travel across the 5-county service area.
Preferred
- 6 months–2 years experience in home care, DSP, HHA, PCA, or CNA roles.
- Experience supporting individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities.
Certifications (Helpful but Not Required)
- CPR/First Aid
- Direct Care Worker (DCW) training
- ODP-required trainings (can be completed after onboarding)
- HHA/PCA certifications
- Mandated Reporter certification (free online)
All required training can be completed through Galeron Consulting Agency’s approved platforms.

Shifts
- 4-hour, 6-hour, 8-hour, 10-hour, 12-hour
- Day, evening, overnight
- Weekdays, weekends, rotating, or as-needed

Compensation Structure
Home Care Attendants may work under multiple service types, depending on client needs. Pay is based on experience, service level, and the client’s care plan.
