As part of our team, you will provide essential support that increases independence, dignity, and daily comfort for elderly clients in their homes.
Position: Elderly Care Assistant
Role Summary
The Elderly Care Assistant supports aging adults by assisting with personal care, companionship, daily living tasks, mobility, and safety monitoring. This role is crucial for helping seniors maintain independence and remain safely in their homes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide companionship, emotional support, and social interaction.
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene care.
Support meal preparation, feeding assistance, and monitoring dietary needs.
Assist with walking, transfers, mobility, and positioning.
Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and home organization tasks.
Provide medication reminders (no medication administration unless permitted).
Monitor and document the client’s physical, emotional, and mental status.
Support with errands, shopping, and home safety management.
Accompany clients to medical appointments, outings, and community activities.
Follow all Galeron Consulting Agency policies, EVV (HHAeXchange/Sandata) requirements, and service care plans.
Qualifications
Minimum age 18 .
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Experience working with elderly individuals in home care, facility, or family settings.
Ability to follow care plans, instructions, and documentation requirements.
Strong communication, patience, and compassion.
Ability to lift, transfer, and support mobility as needed.
Reliable transportation for assignments across the 5-county region.

FBI Clearance (if required by residency)
Child Abuse Clearance
TB Test or Chest X-Ray
Valid ID & Social Security Card
Completion of ODP/OLTL trainings (we assist with this)
Ability to use HHAeXchange/Sandata EVV (training provided)
Suggested / Required Certifications
(Not mandatory but strongly preferred)
CPR & First Aid Certification
Direct Care Worker (DCW) Training
Home Health Aide (HHA) Training
ODP Core Trainings (Companion, IHCS, Respite pathways)
Medication Administration Training (if applicable)
Pay Rates (Based on ODP/OLTL Service Levels)
