At GALERON CONSULTING AGENCY, we proudly provide a wide range of home care services throughout the Southeastern region of Pennsylvania — including Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware Counties. Across these five counties are 100 townships and boroughs, and we actively serve clients in all of them.
We are expanding our team and seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Respite Care Providers to support individuals receiving services through ODP (Office of Developmental Programs) and OLTL (Office of Long-Term Living) waiver programs.
As a Respite Care Provider, you will play a vital role in supporting families and caregivers by providing temporary relief and high-quality, person-centered supervision and care. Position: Respite Care Provider
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary
Expected Hours: 20–60 hours per week
Work Location: In-person (in the client’s home or in the community)
Job Summary
The Respite Care Provider offers short-term relief to the primary caregiver of an individual with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, chronic illness, or age-related limitations. Services may take place in the client’s home or in approved out-of-home settings.
Your role is to ensure safety, continuity of care, engagement, and comfort during the caregiver’s absence.
Responsibilities
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
Direct Care & Support
- Provide attentive supervision and companionship to clients.
- Support clients with daily living tasks (based on the care plan).
- Monitor client wellbeing and immediately report changes to supervisors/family.
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning.
- Assist with personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming) if required by service level.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
Engagement & Activities
- Participate in recreational activities, games, reading, social interaction, and sensory activities.
- Support clients during community outings (if listed in care plan).
- Encourage skill-building, independence, and confidence.
Safety Monitoring
- Ensure home safety standards are followed at all times.
- Keep clear documentation of care and any incidents.
- Follow all ODP/OLTL regulations and agency procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid PA State ID or Driver’s License
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Experience working with seniors, adults, or children with disabilities (preferred)
- Ability to pass PA State Criminal Background Check, FBI Check (if needed), and Child Abuse Clearance
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain — we can assist)
- Must complete ODP 6100 Core Training (24 credits) & OLTL required trainings
- Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation to visit clients across the five-county region
Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- CPR & First Aid
- ODP Annual & Orientation Trainings (6100 training)
- OLTL Mandatory Training Modules
- TB Test / Physical
- Mandated Reporter Training
- EVV Setup (HHAeXchange or Sandata — we assist you)
PAY RATE STRUCTURE (ODP/OLTL – Based on Service Level)

We offer flexible scheduling across all five counties:
- 4 hr / 8 hr / 10 hr / 12 hr shifts
- Day shift
