- Two or Four-year degree in Civil Engineering or construction management
- Experience with CAD programs, Excel, and Adobe preferred
- Experience in estimating grading and utilities (typical projects are site development, industrial, commercial development, utilities, mining reclamation, overburden removal and general site work is a plus. Any take off experience a plus.
- Estimating self-performed work and pricing the labor, equipment, and material costs
- Gain Working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases
- Produce accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings
- Produce detailed, final contract estimates
- Assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate
- Identify constructability issues through the estimating process
- Identify value-engineering alternatives
- Work as a team
- Read, write and communicate effectively with Clients, Engineers, etc
- Use or learn with Agtek, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Cad and other takeoff/modeling software
- Use or learn to use Bid2Win (B2W) Heavy Bid (HCSS)or similar
- A small amount of travel within SC, NC, and GA may be required
