Job Title: Electrical Controls Technician – Industrial Manufacturing
Location: Charleston, SC - this is a rotating 12 hour swing shift schedule
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Technician to support preventative and corrective maintenance in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise with electrical motors, controls, and PLC systems, along with a proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues to keep production running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Inspect, maintain, and repair low and medium voltage (Troubleshoot and maintain motor drive systems (Siemens and Rockwell families). Use PLC interfaces for diagnostics and equipment troubleshooting. Assist with installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities. Contribute to safety and operational procedures, including job safety analyses (JSAs).

Key Responsibilities
- Associate degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology, military-equivalent electronics training, or high school diploma with 5 years of relevant maintenance and repair experience.
- Minimum of 4 years troubleshooting electrical motors and controls.
- Experience with PLC diagnostics in an industrial environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E / NEC safety requirements.
- Ability to work shift schedules and overtime as required.
- Physically capable of performing tasks in a manufacturing environment (climbing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs, working in hot conditions).
- 5 years of manufacturing experience with automation, calibrated instrumentation, and PLC interfaces.
- Knowledge of PLC logic, industrial automation & control systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Experience troubleshooting technical equipment and instrumentation.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and aerial lifts when needed.
