What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Electrical Journeyman position at Industrial Electrical Group (IEG)?
Position Overview: IEG is currently seeking an Industrial Service Electrician to troubleshoot, test, repair, install and calibrate electrical and electronic equipment at customer sites in the SC area.
In this position, some overnight travel may be involved from time to time.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Testing and measurement of AC/DC utilities and control circuits.
- Able to interpret electrical/electronic schematics and technical manuals.
- Thorough understanding of industrial controls, 3-phase power, PLCs, distribution switchgear, transformers, and instrumentation.
- Able to work with various hand tools and electrical test equipment.
- Able to demonstrate satisfactory troubleshooting skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with appropriate departments/individuals.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment, hand tools and personal knowledge to determine root cause.
- Performs necessary maintenance tasks including but not limited to troubleshooting, the repair or replacement of defective and damaged parts, adjustments and calibration procedures, assemble, install, test and execute preventative maintenance tasks on various forms of manufacturing equipment.
- Must report to work on time; tardiness will not be tolerated.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- 2 years industrial maintenance experience preferred working at the Journeyman level.
- Must have thorough understanding of electrical safe work practices
- Must have experience with and the ability to demonstrate electrical and mechanical maintenance principles and troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of multiple industrial manufacturing processes required, such as AC/DC motor troubleshooting experience preferred
- Electrical controls maintenance and repair proficiency preferred
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take lead role on job, delegate work, order materials, and manage workers under stressful shut-down job conditions.
- Ability to install and modify EMT, Rigid, Robroy, PVC, and other conduit types utilizing hand, mechanical, and electric benders
- Ability to operate conduit cutting, threading, and reaming equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in heights for extended periods of time.
- Ability to workdays, nights, and weekends per customer demands
- Willingness to mentor and train apprentice electricians.
Education and Additional Requirements
- High school/GED
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must have dependable transportation to travel to jobsites up to 50 miles from Summerville area
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must have a clean MVR Must be able to pass a background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
