Job Summary:
We are seeking a Field Safety Officer to serve as the owner representative, responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe work environment across field operations. This role involves conducting site inspections, enforcing safety policies, training employees, and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
This position serves as a key resource for hazard identification, incident prevention, and the development of a strong safety culture. The Field Safety Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment while protecting product integrity and ensuring uninterrupted facility operations within highly regulated pharmaceutical and biotech environments.
The successful candidate will:
- Implement the Client’s Safety Program to ensure adherence to California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) requirements and all applicable Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulatory agencies
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on field construction activities to ensure compliance and identify risks
- Provide professional safety support across multiple projects and field teams
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective listening skills
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Team up with Gabe, Inc. ® Site Team and the account EHS Manager to establish EHS performance goals and review performance against the Safety Program
- Implement EHS program to manage partners working under the client’s scope of work
- Establish a partnership with field construction workers, maintain a strong safety culture atmosphere. Coach and mentor workers to build a rapport that mirrors team effort
- Evaluate, document and facilitate correction of hazardous conditions on the work site
- Establish record management and retention policy. Ensures required records are kept available according to regulatory and Gabe, Inc. ® requirements
- Assist the Gabe, Inc. ® Site Team in accident investigation and root cause analysis implementing any new corrective actions
- Assist the EHS Manager on projects related to areas of responsibility
- Maintain a collaborative partnership as the liaison to the Client’s EHS organization
- Drive the implementation of programs and initiatives necessary to foster a strong EHS culture
Additional Skills:
- Must be self-motivated team player communicate well with supervision. Possess a professional attitude
- Bilingual / Spanish helpful
- Basic computer skills Word, Excel, Power Point applications
- Ability to drive and inspect both outdoor and indoor areas to observe compliance with established programs. Flexibility a must, our team maintains some shared multi-shifts and OT
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in Construction Safety Management
- Strong understanding of industrial safety programs
- Process driven with a strong Operational Excellence mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board of certified safety professional certificate (CSP, SMP, ASP,GSP,OHST CHST) Certification
- OSHA 510 occupational safety and health Standard for Construction industry
- Experience in commercial or public Construction Projects
- Competency in CAL/OSHA Regulatory Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry leading industrial programs
- Experience implementing and supporting Construction Safety programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively communicate cross functionally
Salary : $45 - $55
