Job Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Contractor Estimator in the Greater Los Angeles area, to calculate the total cost for electrical construction projects by gathering proposals, analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine material, labor, and equipment expenses.
Responsibilities:
· Cost Analysis – Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to determine the scope of work and estimate costs for materials, equipment, and labor.
· Bid & Proposal Development – Prepare detailed bids and proposals for various project types, including hard bid, negotiated, and time and materials contract.
· Market Research – Research and stay current with market prices for electrical materials, equipment, and labor to ensure competitive and realistic estimates.
· Coordination & Communication – Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information, discuss project details, attend job walks, and negotiate pricing.
· Risk Assessment – Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring financial viability.
· Code Compliance – Ensure that all estimates and project plans comply with relevant electrical codes and industry standards.
· Administrative Tasks – Manage project risks, update proposals, handle request for information (RFI’s), and maintain estimating databases.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Work Experience – 5 years in construction estimating within electrical field.
· Technical Knowledge – Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, electrical codes, and construction processes.
· Analytical & Mathematical Skills – Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities for accurate cost calculations.
· Reading & Interpretation – Exceptional ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and other technical documents.
· Software Proficiency – Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Plan Swift, Accubid, or Take-Off software), and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Communication Skills – Strong people skills to establish effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
· Attention to Detail – High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is crucial for precise estimations.
· Time Management – Excellent time management skills to work effectively under deadlines.
· Personal Computer – Must have a working computer and internet service.

Pay Compensation: $30.00 to $45.00 per hour.
