Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Acknowledges customers as they approach the shipping and receiving area.
- Assists customers in will call.
- Demonstrates superior customer relations and interdepartmental cooperation skills.
- Maintains knowledge and understands products sold by Van Keppel.
- Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Pulling Parts Sales Order (PSO’s) in assigned order with less than 1 error per 100 line- items pulled.
- Delivering parts to proper areas designated by the (PSO).
- Conveying materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Filing requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.
- Assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders on pallets, shelving or conveying orders to packing or shipping stations.
- Maintaining a clean warehouse and work area.
- Receiving stock and freight shipments.
- Marking materials with identifying information.
- Replenishing shelf stock.
- Packaging parts for shipment.
- Assisting in maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed
- Maintaining inventory records and bin counts.
- Preparing manifests/bills of lading for materials being shipped according to carrier's and Van Keppel’s procedures.
- Driving vehicle to transport stored items or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Always working safely and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Complying with company policies, procedures, and standards.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position and branch location.
Qualifications:Job Qualification and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in a warehouse required
- 2 years of experience working with power tools required
- Forklift certification required
- 2 years of experience operating material handling equipment
- Valid driver’s license – Class E
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Proficiency using computers and software
- Excellent attendance required
