Automation and Controls Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Automation and Controls Engineer to work in a Global Propulsion plant in Tonawanda, NY. Focus will be on launch of all new Gen6 Small Block internal gas engines. 80-90% working on factory floor.

Must be able to work any shift, including 2- weekends per month. There will be 20% travel- 6 x a year- travel to MI.

Associates Degree required,

Minimum Required Skills:

1.) Strong Allen-Bradley Rockwell PLC Programming Experience (RSLogix 5000 or/and Studio 5000)
2.) HMI Programming Experience (Preferred Rockwell FactoryTalk View)
3.) Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and machine control circuits.
4.) Minimum 3 years’ Experience/Ability to troubleshoot controls related automation equipment breakdowns in a high-pressure manufacturing environment
5.) Basic Fanuc Robotics Experience
6.) Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills in a high-volume manufacturing environment
7.) Strong Comprehension of Ethernet/IP industrial networks
8.) Prior vehicle assembly or industrial automation experience preferred
9.) Understanding/Programming of servo drives, motion control, and VFDs
10.).Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with maintenance, production, suppliers, and central ME teams
11.) Ownership of tasks: planning, scheduling, and coordinating work with trades and contractors.
12.) Ability to work flexible hours / rotate shifts as required by plant operations
13.) Basic Automation Controls Vision systems programming experience (Preferred Matrox)

Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
