About the Role:
They’re hiring a Head of Engineering to lead and scale the technical organisation through its next phase of growth. You’ll oversee the architecture and delivery of core products, manage a talented engineering team, and partner cross-functionally with design and product to build experiences that power the financial lives of thousands of creators.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, leads from the front, and is eager to shape both the engineering culture and technical direction of a high-impact startup.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a small, high-performing engineering team while remaining hands-on with system design and code reviews
- Architect and scale backend systems powering financial products for the creator economy
- Collaborate with product and design to define the roadmap, translate vision into execution, and ensure rapid delivery
- Establish engineering standards for scalability, reliability, and security
- Manage technical hiring, career growth, and performance across the team
- Drive cross-functional alignment between engineering, product, and operations
- Act as a key technical partner to leadership, contributing to product strategy and long-term vision
Requirements:
- 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including 2–3 years in a leadership role
- Deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and AWS
- Strong system design and architectural experience, ideally in FinTech, payments, or B2C financial products
- Experience building and scaling engineering teams in early-stage, fast-paced environments
- Product-focused mindset - comfortable balancing speed, quality, and business impact
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
