The Converting Set Up Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Converting machines and associated equipment to produce high-quality converting products/bags. This role is a critical part of the safety and quality aspects of Production and must adhere to all safety and quality standards.

The Role:
The Converting Set Up Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Converting machines and associated equipment to produce high-quality converting products/bags. This role is a critical part of the safety and quality aspects of Production and must adhere to all safety and quality standards.
Our 2nd Shift is 2:00PM – 10pm Monday-Friday

- Entry-Level starting pay is currently $22.00 per hour for 2nd shift. Compensation rates are determined based on experience and skill level.
- Reviews work orders and productions schedules to determine job requirements.
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates machinery according to production specifications from product BOM.
- Operates converting equipment to produce high-quality materials.
- Utilizes correct measurement tools to evaluate products.
- Performs machine changeovers and equipment adjustments.
- Troubleshoots machine issues and escalates mechanical repairs to Maintenance.
- Monitors production quality and inspects finished products to ensure specifications are met.
- Moves finished product from machines, and packages finished materials according to customer requirements.
- Adheres to 5s Standards by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Completes all assigned training by due date, and implements knowledge gained to better the organization.
- Submits Continuous Improvement ideas to better the Converting Operations function – safety, quality, cost reduction, and delivery.
- Exhibits positivity and flexibility when assigned new projects or tasks.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Quality and Safety focused mindset.
- Willingness to learn and follow directions from team.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing focused math and utilizing a measuring tape and micrometer for measurements.
- Minium education is High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working in converting industry, printing industry or related industry, preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs, frequently during an 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs/steps
- Must be able to sit for brief periods of time.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and written.
