Packing Department Lead - 2nd shift

We are in search of a 2nd Shift Lead in the packing department for our production facility located in Archdale, NC. We are looking for someone with demonstrated leadership experience, who is approachable, takes ownership and is accountable, practices confidentiality, and fosters and open trusting and collaborative work environment. The position will oversee the packing department and support the supervisor in the areas of: direction of work, product flow, quality, yield, efficiencies, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Minimum High School Diploma.
- 2-5 years of related leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience overseeing 2 - 19 employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Be able to train on first shift before going to second.
- Must be capable of learning and comprehending job assignments, possess good memory and recall abilities, troubleshoot problems and independently implement solutions.
- Must be able read a tape measure, interpret data and determine best yields from material.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and oversees the packing department.
Self-starter that can coordinate the effective use of time, labor, and resources to minimize or eliminate downtime.
Ensures that the department operates in a safe, clean and efficient manner while producing quality products that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Accomplish production goals by communicating clear job expectations and by providing the necessary resources to the employee in order for them to perform their tasks effectively.
Trains, cross-trains and provides guidance to employees.

- Promotes and demonstrates company's core values, culture, and company policies.
- Assist supervisor with oversee that quality standards are followed, and will assist supervisor in holding employees accountable for their actions regarding safety and company policies/practices.
