Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for positioning Futron and its contract vehicles with customers and partners. This includes presenting Futron as a prime contractor or team member to pursue task orders and/or prime contract opportunities.
- 10 years experience in a similar role.
- Authorized to enter into teaming agreements and execute NDAs on behalf of Futron as either a prime or subcontractor.
- Authorized to pursue and establish teaming arrangements on behalf of Futron.
- Authorized to make bid/no-bid decisions after gate reviews or present opportunities to executive leadership for final decision-making.
The primary responsibility of the Business Development Manager is to create strategic opportunities by positioning Futron contracts and/or establishing teaming relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers and understand key drivers within customer accounts.
- Position and promote Futron within new or existing customer environments using contract vehicles or team partnerships.
- Serve as a consultant to Futron leadership by providing insights into customer needs and industry trends to influence business decisions.
- Deliver detailed capability briefings and clearly communicate Futron’s value proposition.
- Implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes.
- Meet or exceed assigned revenue and profit quotas.
- Provide customer quotes and support proposal development activities.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships; attend trade shows as required.
- Submit accurate forecasts and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) as assigned.
- Communicate Futron’s value and story effectively to customers and partners.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Coordinate with Futron and vendor resources for customer engagements.
- Participate in sales meetings, company meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives.
- Understanding of how to position contract vehicles with U.S. federal customers.
- Ability to think strategically to build teaming relationships and pursue targeted opportunities.
- Strong customer presentation skills and ability to articulate why Futron is the best fit for their needs.
- Financial acumen, including pricing strategy and ensuring opportunity profitability per Futron guidelines.
- Ability to produce a timely and accurate monthly opportunity tracker for forecasting.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Publisher, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, FrontPage, Outlook
- Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader
- CRM software platforms
- Primarily office-based with secondary work at customer and partner sites.
- Must be able to remain calm, professional, and effective in high-stress situations.
- Must demonstrate emotional regulation, resilience, and persistence in the face of challenges.
- Requires travel to customer sites, including overnight travel.
- May include a combination of office work and telecommuting.
- Salary: $150,000 annually
