A respected and growing law firm in the Washington, DC metro area is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build a long-term career with a collaborative firm while gaining hands-on courtroom and trial experience.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage and litigate their own cases while also serving as second chair on complex litigation matters handled by senior partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and litigate cases from inception through resolution
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Serve as second chair in litigation matters led by firm partners
- Maintain regular client communication and provide strategic legal guidance
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to achieve successful case outcomes
- Develop litigation strategies and effectively advocate on behalf of clients
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of personal Injury experience preferred
- Licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland and/or Virginia
- Admission to all three jurisdictions is a strong plus
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable with significant client interaction and relationship management
- Desire to build a long-term career within a growing law firm
