What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Care Specialist position at Fusion Pet Retreat?

We are seeking Part Time employment that also includes weekends and Holidays. Candidates should be available to work 5 hour shifts. 10:00am-3:00pm, 6:30am-11:30am and/or 12:00pm-5:00pm. Applicants should be available to work Weekends. Position includes some On-Call weekends, for which employee will be compensated for. For insurance liability reasons, all applicants must be over 18 years of age. Must be available to be on call on a weekend, on rotation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes, cats, and small mammals
- Supervising dog playgroups of no more than 12 dogs at a time
- Walking dogs on leash throughout the facility
- Administering feedings to dogs, cats, and small mammals
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels
- Appropriately tracking animals' eating, urinary, and bowel habits
- Identifying when an animal is in distress or in need of veterinary care
- Provide a clean and safe environment to the animals in our care, including but not limited to: spot cleaning when animals have messes, filling water dishes, doing dishes & laundry
- Friendly Presence with Customers
- Able to work cooperatively as a team, but also autonomously when needed
- Stay calm under pressure
- Able to lift up 50 lbs., be on your feet for long periods of time, and vigorously clean kennels
