What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counter Sales Associate position at Furbay Electric Supply Company?
A counter salesperson assists customers by providing products and knowledge to customers regarding our electrical merchandise capabilities. They will work with warehouse regarding our electrical merchandise capabilities, stock items, a cash register/credit card machine, catalogues, a computer, and various product displays to assist inquiring customers in seeking the right merchandise for their needs. The salesperson must be willing to work at least 40 hours a week (fulltime) and overtime as needed and must have dependable transportation to The Furbay Electric Supply location designated for work. Training for the position will be provided as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and develop positive relationships in friendly, positive manner.
- Accurately and efficiently enter customer quotes, orders and credits in business’s computer system to meet customer “conditions of satisfaction”.
- Know and strive to achieve personal/team sales and gross margin goals by assigned supervisor.
- Maintain and follow company procedures and policies to process all pertinent data and communications clearly and accurately.
- Learn and retain expected knowledge for vendor products and capabilities.
- Periodically maintain and update counter merchandise area with appropriate products and accurate bin locations.
Qualifications:
- Education and experience
- High school diploma
- A minimum of two years’ experience in electrical distribution preferred or 2-year associate technical degree.
- Electrical product knowledge a plus.
- Lift at least 50 lbs. to shoulder height and at least 100 lbs. to waist height
- Frequently kneel, squat, bend at the knee and back, stoop, crouch, climb, reach above one’s head, push, pull and lift.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
