Job Summary
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily inventory control functions within the distribution center. This role ensures inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, investigations, and process improvements while supervising the inventory control team. The Inventory Control Supervisor works closely with Receiving, Shipping, Production, and Warehouse Operations to maintain accurate inventory records and support efficient warehouse operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of the Inventory Control team.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and routine audits.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes.
- Coordinate inventory adjustments and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor product movement throughout the warehouse to ensure inventory integrity.
- Collaborate with Receiving, Shipping, Production, and Warehouse Operations to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to improve operational efficiency.
- Review inventory reports and analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and inventory control procedures.
- Train, coach, and develop inventory control associates.
- Schedule employee work assignments, monitor productivity, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Maintain documentation related to inventory transactions, audits, and cycle counts.
- Support warehouse management during annual physical inventories.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to reduce inventory variances and increase accuracy.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or distribution.
- Experience in a food distribution or food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory control procedures, warehouse operations, and cycle counting.
- Experience leading warehouse or inventory teams in a fast-paced environment.
