Job Summary
The Crossdock/JIT Manager oversees daily crossdock and Just-In-Time (JIT) operations to ensure efficient product flow, inventory accuracy, and timely shipments. This role manages warehouse teams, coordinates inbound and outbound activities, partners with transportation and inventory teams, and drives operational excellence within a fast-paced food distribution environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily crossdock and JIT operations, ensuring efficient product movement and workflow.
- Lead, train, and develop warehouse supervisors and associates.
- Manage inbound and outbound processes, including receiving, staging, sorting, and loading activities.
- Ensure products are accurately received, organized, and transferred according to customer and operational requirements.
- Monitor inventory flow and maintain accurate JIT processes to support customer demand.
- Coordinate with transportation, inventory control, receiving, and shipping departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Monitor operational performance, productivity metrics, and department goals.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, company policies, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Identify and resolve operational issues while minimizing delays and disruptions.
- Review reports and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Manage labor planning, scheduling, and resource allocation based on business needs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in a warehouse, distribution center, logistics, or food distribution environment.
- Previous experience managing crossdock, JIT, inventory, or transportation-related operations strongly preferred.
- Experience leading large teams in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
