Job Summary
The AGV Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) system within the distribution center. This role is responsible for supervising AGV operators and technicians, monitoring system performance, coordinating with warehouse leadership, and ensuring all automated equipment operates safely and efficiently to support shipping, receiving, and inventory movement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operation of the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) system.
- Lead, coach, and develop AGV operators and support personnel.
- Monitor AGV performance and respond to system alarms or operational issues.
- Coordinate with Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Maintenance departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Troubleshoot AGV system issues and escalate technical concerns when necessary.
- Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance with the maintenance team.
- Monitor equipment uptime and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, warehouse procedures, and OSHA standards.
- Maintain accurate records of AGV performance, downtime, maintenance, and operational metrics.
- Train employees on AGV operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce downtime.
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Support inventory movement and warehouse operations as business needs require.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or food distribution environment.
- Experience working with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), warehouse automation, or material handling systems preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory movement, and food safety standards.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
