Position Overview
- This position is part of the 1Finity Global sales team tasked with developing new business in AI-enabled OSS and open, cloud-native network software domains. The role focuses on translating technical and software capabilities into business outcomes across all customer market segments.
- We are seeking a Network Solutions Sales Engineer / Technical Specialist with software automation experience combined with optical transport technology & architecture background. This position will promote customer understanding and adoption of current Open software and hardware solutions, as well as driving regional growth of emerging transport technologies.
- The ideal candidate will have sales engineer experience with OSS, network automation, cloud-native networking, AI-enabled operations, or telecommunications software, with a background including WDM and ROADM transport networks.
- As part of the Technical Specialists team, you will collaborate across functional departments including engineering, R&D, sales & marketing
- Occasional sales/collaboration (up to 25%) travel is normal (For example: visits to USA customer locations and/or 1Finity labs in Richardson, TX)
- Combine optical networking background with software sales skills. For example: ability to read, understand, and discuss software code and APIs with customer engineering teams. Customer discussions will require skillsets including Python, REST APIs, JSON/YAML, OpenAPI specifications, Postman, etc.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients, including sales proposals explaining solutions and services
- Shape the requirements and timing of technology and architecture decisions within customer networks to align with 1Finity’s solutions. Demonstrate ability to translate technical capabilities into business outcomes such as OPEX reduction, Faster service activation, Reduced MTTR, Autonomous operations, and/or AI-driven productivity gains.
- Recommend improved processes and solutions, demonstrating how changes will improve technical and/or economic results
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in science and technology, including AI, networking, cloud computing, security, & virtualization
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 7 years of experience in OSS, network automation, cloud-native networking, AI-enabled operations, or telecommunications software. Examples: AI-driven network operations (AIOps), autonomous networking, or intelligent automation platforms.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, SaaS platforms, microservices architectures, and DevOps methodologies.
- Hands-on knowledge of APIs, JSON/YAML, Python scripting, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Candidates should possess, or be actively pursuing, professional certifications and credentials related to Generative AI platforms and AI-enabled software development. Examples include:
- Claude Certified Architect – Foundations
- AWS Generative AI Engineer Certification or Machine Learning Engineer Certification
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
- Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer
- NVIDIA Certified AI Infrastructure
- Ability to lead technical workshops, architecture discussions, and executive briefings focused on OSS modernization and AI-driven network transformation.
- Strong understanding of software commercialization, SaaS business models, and recurring revenue services.
- Ability to navigate high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure, effectively manage conflicts, and maintain a constructive dialogue with demanding customers. This includes actively listening to concerns, empathizing with diverse perspectives, and providing clear, solution-oriented communication to resolve issues and maintain trust.
