Position Summary
The Document Control Clerk (DCC) plays a critical role within the Workplace Services team of the Engineering Department. This position is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining all project-related documentation, drawings, and files. By ensuring accurate and efficient document control processes, the DCC supports smooth workflows throughout every phase of engineering projects—from development to execution to final handover. This role is essential in keeping project information accessible, up to date, and properly distributed to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project documentation and drawing management.
- Maintain a comprehensive digital library of project files and drawings, and organize hard copies in designated storage areas as needed.
- Coordinate document transfers and updates with external vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure proper communication flow.
- Distribute project documents and drawings to internal and external teams using electronic file sharing systems, email, and printed copies.
- Operate large-format multifunction printers (MFPs) to accurately produce technical drawings, blueprints, and oversized documents.
- Print, package, and mail hard copy drawings and related materials upon request.
- Receive, file, and manage project drawings and CAD files within the Information Management System while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
- Consolidate and organize legacy storage locations into a clean, accessible centralized filing area (5S).
- Support ongoing improvements to document control processes and systems.
- Track drawing inventories, including revisions, updates, and archived versions.
- Identify and resolve documentation issues proactively with a focus on efficiency and precision.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation
- Associate degree in drafting, CAD, or a related technical field from a technical school or community college.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in document control, drawing management, or a similar role within engineering, construction, or manufacturing.
- Experience handling technical documentation, CAD files, and drawings throughout full project lifecycles.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners on documentation processes.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Regular activities include standing, sitting, walking, talking, listening, and performing fine motor tasks such as typing.
- Requires close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional lifting and handling of drawing rolls or packages up to 15 pounds.
- Primarily office-based role with occasional hands-on work managing physical documents.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $27.00 - $30.49 per hour
