What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Accountant position at FTS, Inc.?
We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our client's tax team in a role that's equal parts administrative / accounting and built to grow with you.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone that just graduated or is looking for their next step in their career. You don't need to be a CPA but you do need to understand debits and credits, be comfortable with reconciliations, and be the kind of person who rolls up their sleeves and figures things out.
What You'll Do
- Sort, distribute, and prepare outgoing mail, including certified and priority mail
- Respond to W-9 requests from vendors and clients
- Assist with preparation and filing of Form 5500, franchise tax, business privilege tax, and basic income tax returns (1120-S)
- Research unclaimed property obligations and requirements
- Support consultants and internal teams with administrative and compliance tasks
- Enter purchase orders and process check requests
- Assist with reconciliations and light bookkeeping tasks
What We're Looking For
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- Background in AP/AR, or general accounting
- Solid understanding of debits and credits and basic reconciliation
- Organized, reliable, and good communication
- Curious and open-minded about tax; no prior tax experience required, just willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and comfort handling compliance deadlines
