Job Overview
We are partnering with one of our large, long-standing clients to hire a Customer Service/Collections Specialist to join their team. This role is onsite, Monday–Friday from 8:30am–5:00pm, and plays an essential part in managing customer accounts, resolving billing issues, and ensuring timely payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure payments are made on time
- Communicate directly with customers to address billing questions or concerns
- Identify potential credit risks and evaluate accounts for possible bad debt
- Reduce accounts receivable aging through proactive outreach and follow-up
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports outlining account status and collection activity
- Partner with customers and internal departments to resolve disputes quickly and professionally
- Contribute to special projects supporting the Credit and Finance teams
- Maintain active communication via phone, email, and other channels to ensure timely resolution of payment issues
Education
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in collections, customer account management, or accounts receivable
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle client interactions professionally
- Ability to navigate difficult conversations while maintaining positive customer relationships
- Professional, personable, and collaborative approach
- Ability to thrive in a corporate, fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Comfortable working independently as well as within a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
