Bookkeeper – Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records through daily transaction entry, managing accounts payable/receivable, and completing regular bank and account reconciliations. This role involves working in accounting software to process financial data, prepare basic financial reports, and ensure records remain organized, current, and compliant with relevant regulations. Strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and organization are essential to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record daily financial activity in the general ledger.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices and customer payments.
- Perform account and bank reconciliations to maintain balanced, accurate ledgers.
- Support compliance efforts and tax-related requirements as needed.
- Maintain well-organized records and assist during audits or tax preparation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with accounting software (Sage preferred), data entry, and spreadsheets.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organization and time management abilities.
