The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of food production in the hospital kitchen, including patient meals, retail and catering food operations. Reporting to and working closely with the Executive Chef, the Production Manager ensures that all food is prepared to the highest quality, safety, and nutritional standards while maintaining efficient operations and supporting staff development.
Position Details:
Salary: From $78,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
FLSA Status: Exempt
Schedule: Full-time, various days/shifts, holidays as needed

Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a related area or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Food Service Handler Certificate (current or obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Minimum of 2 years experience with food service, food prep, or catering, preferably in a medical care environment
- Working knowledge of institutional food service operations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency with Windows computers and software, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 5 years of progressive experience in food production, cooking and catering
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and regulations about hospital food service
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the production and other dietary employees.
- Oversee food preparation processes to ensure consistency, quality, proper portion control and presentation.
- Function as a department's management team member and attend management/CQI meetings and audits.
- Responsible for work schedules, payroll, and conducting meetings with production employees
- Responsible for food production and requisitioning
- Coordinates the food service for special catering events.
- Evaluate new products and menu items to optimize patient and customer satisfaction
- Evaluate employee performance using the disciplinary process as needed
- Familiarize and keep employees current with hospital rules and regulations concerning health and safety.
- Support cost control efforts by tracking usage, identifying areas of excess or waste, and making recommendations for improvement.
