Position Summary:
The Food Service Worker is responsible for setting up and delivering resident meal trays, working efficiently on the tray line, serving in the Garden Grill Café, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, including the dish machine and kitchen areas. This is a role requiring proficiency in all aspects of the tray line. Weekends and holidays are required.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English, follow written and verbal instructions, and complete simple computational skills
- Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position
- Ability to meet acceptable background check standards
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the healthcare environment
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Accurately portion, serve, set up, and deliver all resident meal trays quickly with minimum waste and in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Clean and operate equipment per departmental procedures including cleaning and wiping food trucks and mopping all floor surfaces.
- Accurately portion food items such as desserts, nourishments, hot food, cold food, bread, milk, etc.
- Safely transport food trucks and equipment to resident units, ensuring timely and proper delivery.
- Scrape used resident trays of all refuse in the dish machine area and properly run dish machines.
- Serve in the Garden Grill Café service as assigned, providing excellent customer service to residents and visitors.
- Adhere to LISVH and departmental policies and procedures om universal pre auctions and unit restrictions.
- Communicate any resident-related problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrate knowledge of infection control, sanitation food safety, and personal hygiene.
- Provide exceptional service to residents and staff members.
- Adhere to organization and department dress codes and time/attendance policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Executive Chef.
- Essential Physical Requirements*: Typically lifts 20 to 50 lbs.
